Summary

A local hospital sought to create two informative booklets for children and teens preparing for an endoscopy appointment. With minimal initial information provided, the project required a creative approach to ensure the content was engaging, age-appropriate, and easy to understand. The children’s booklet featured a friendly cartoon stomach character, designed to guide young readers through important information in a fun and reassuring way. For the teen version, the content remained similar, but the imagery and design were adjusted to offer a more mature, yet still approachable, look and feel.

Both booklets focused on reducing fear and anxiety by empowering patients with clear, helpful information about the procedure. Visual storytelling and thoughtful design choices made the materials accessible and engaging for each audience. The result was a cohesive pair of booklets tailored to support children and teens in feeling confident and well-informed ahead of their appointments. This project highlights the ability to adapt design elements to meet the needs of different audiences while maintaining a consistent and empathetic tone.
